    Description: 
    Thirty-four tubular pieces are installed in horizontal rows on the white-painted facade of the parking garage. The interior is painted red on the interior to give the work a glowing effect on sunny days.

    Remarks: 
    Commissioned by the Mayor's Art Advisory Commission for the City Parking Authority as part of a renovation of City Parking Ramp No. 1. The Parking Authority provided $7,500 and the remainder of the $15,000 cost of the sculpture was raised privately. Contributors included the Dyers Ives Foundation. The installation was done by construction workers Tom Springer and Bill Ogden and Owens-Ames-Kimball Company. IAS files contain related articles from the Grand Rapids Press, March 27, 1983, pg.
