Remarks:
The sculpture cost $6,000 and was funded through public subscriptions headed by the Gate City Investment Corporation. Lawrence C. Elliott, a local businessman, was a leading philanthropist in Nashua and an avid supporter of Bishop Guertin High School's athletic programs. IAS files contain related articles from the Nashua Telegraph, May 25 or 26, 1983; and The Union Leader, May 26, 1983, pg. 6. IAS files contain related obituaries from Nashua Telegraph, July 13, 14, and 15, 1982; Sept. 10, 1982 contract with the artist, and photocopied images from the dedication ceremony.
