He is seated in a red upholstered chair in front of drapery, which is pulled back slightly to reveal a landscape depicting farmland. He wears a black cut-away jacket with a cream-colored vest and a white shirt.

    Remarks: 
    Edward Ambrose Baber was born in Buckingham County, Virginia on Sept. 12, 1793. He was educated in Virginia. His home on Walnut Street was built in 1829. He was elected state senator five times and was able to pass a bill that would charter the Central Railroad and Banking Company. He was one of the first two wardens of Christ Episcopal Church.
