    Title:
    (Chatham Academy Relief Sculptures), (sculpture).

    Description:
Two relief scenes are on different facades of a school building. One scene includes two women in ancient Greek costumes sitting on either side of a columned arch. The woman on the left is holding a scroll and cornucopia. The woman on the right is reading a tablet and holding a stylus. Both women have long hair. The other scene is within a pediment and includes in the center a woman seated on a large chair on a pedestal, embracing a child. The pedestal is flanked by two columns, one has an oil lamp and the other has a globe. Outside of each column are female figures, both seated. The figure on the left side reads a book, while the figure on the right writes on a scroll with her proper right hand and holds a scroll with her proper left hand. Flanking the figures is another set of columns. In the background of the scene is a representation of the Roman Coliseum and the Parthenon.
