    Description: 
    A 24 foot high relief panel depicting a man in Pilgrim's dress. standing in front of a group of people and a Colonial ship. The man clutches a book to his chest in his proper right hand. A woman to his proper left holds a baby to her breast. Beside her, a man stands with a rifle. The sculpture rests on a low platform with (45 feet in front) two bas-relief granite blocks. The bas-relief panel on the left depicts two American Indians planting. The other panels shows three American Indians. One is shooting a bow, one is throwing a tomahawk, and one is throwing a spear.

    Remarks: 
    The memorial was created as a result of a bequest of Charles H. Harrub. In accordance with his will, $100,000 was left for two memorials in honor of his deceased wife, Rhoby Harrub. IAS files contain article from The Waterbury American, Oct. 10, 1925, which describe early design as "a group of Pilgrims and Indians in friendly council over whom a floating figure representing a guiding spirit is suspended."
