Description:
Eight brightly colored abstract figures are running. They are installed in the form of an arch, with four figures on each side. The figures are carrying luggage and briefcases. They are dressed in business and casual attire. They vary in age, race and gender.

Remarks:
Commissioned by the Cedar Rapids Airport Authority for $100,000, funded by airport revenue. The original model for the sculpture contained ten figures and was called "Grand Picnic." Although the sculpture has proven to be very popular, its site was criticized as being too distracting and the Airport Authority considered relocating it. IAS files include related articles from the Cedar Rapid Gazette and the Des Moines Register, a flight guide with a cover illustration of the sculpture and historic photographs of the installation.
