Description:
A large arching amorphous form with seven fin-like projections along the top designed to be evocative of a wave or marine theme. The sculpture is shaped with a huge armature of metal tubing and wire to which concrete is applied. The surface of the concrete is embedded with translucent geodes, agate stones, and circular tiles of clay filled with shells and imprints of starfish and seahorses.

Remarks:
Ivy Parsons designed the sculpture and was assisted by art teacher Kathy Kuhn's fifth grade students at Buckingham Elementary School. The students created clay tiles filled with shells and imprints of shells that the artist incorporated into the sculpture. The sculpture was erected during the 1989-1990 school year and was a project was supported by a grant from the Artist in Education Program. The Buckingham Elementary School's PTA contributed funds for supplies. A nearby plaque reads: Sculpture/by/Ivy Parsons/and Kathy Kuhn's 5th Grade Classes/Spring, 1991.
