Commissioned by the Girl Scouts in honor of their 75th anniversary. They collected the money over 3 1/2 years through donations from local citizens and businesses, profits from cookie sales, can collecting, and a comedy skit production. Figure was displayed at a sculpture show in Ohio in 1988; later the sculptor brought it to Grundy. The figure was stored in the courthouse until the Girl Scouts finished raising the funds a year later.
