    Description: 
    A marble bench in the shape of an ice skate. The lower part of the bench is in the shape of the blade of an ice skate. One end curves up and the other end tapers down. Two smaller rectangular shapes rest on the blade and support a horizontal slab which serves as the seat for the bench. The bench rests on a concrete slab which is flush with the sidewalk.

    Remarks: 
    This piece is a memorial to the Broadmoor Figure Skating Club members of the United States World Figure Skating team who lost their lives in an airplane wreck in Brussels, Belgium, Feb. 15, 1961. The team was on the way to the World Championships in Prague, Czechoslovakia. IAS files contain related article from Gazette Telegraph (Colorado Springs, CO), Feb. 16, 1964, pg.
