    Description: 
    Full-length portrait of James Bowie. He wears frontiersman's clothing including a homespun shirt and knee-high boots. A powder horn is tied to a strap over his proper left shoulder. He holds the barrel of a rifle with his proper left hand; the butt of the gun rests on the ground in front of him. His proper left leg is forward and his proper left foot rests on a rock. He carries a Bowie knife in his proper right hand. The bronze sculpture stands on a polished granite base.
