    Remarks: 
    The statue commemorates General Francis Amasa Walker (1840-1897), Trustee of the Library in 1896 and President of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1881-1897). The statue was funded by City appropriations. IAS files contain a copy of Nov. 14, 1899 resolution commemorating Walker.
