    Description: 
    Eight totemic columns stand in a landscaped area which simulates a portion of the Oregon Trail. The poles are white, turquoise, black, yellow, blue and earth tones. The poles represent markers on the Oregon Trail such as Chimney Rock, Court House Rock and Lone Tree and are decorated with a layered collage of words and images. Images include a sundial, feathers, oxen horns, an Appaloosa pony, a crow's head, a cattle herd scene, pine trees, and phases of the moon. Woven through are patterns from Indian blankets, Victorian lace, plowed fields, wagon wheels, and rattle snake tails.
