    2 reliefs. Each relief: approx. 10 x 12 x 1 ft.

    (Incised on banner in each tympanum:) PEOPLES SAVINGS BANK unsigned
    Description: 
    Two reliefs, one located in each tympanum over the entrance to the building. In one tympanum, the figures of Mercury and Labor sit back to back, a beehive is between them and a banner stretches out above them.
    Mercury, wearing only a winged helmet, holds a caduceus in his proper left hand and a staff in his proper right hand. Behind him, a loosely draped figure representing Labor holds a hammer in his proper right hand and a staff in his proper left hand. In the other tympanum, the figures of Knowledge and Truth, or Fortune, sit back to back, a beehive is between them and a banner stretches out above them. The female figure holds a staff in her proper right hand and the male figure behind her holds a staff with is proper right hand.
