    Description: 
    A bronze sculpture of Prometheus running and carrying a torch in his proper right hand. He wears only a loincloth. His proper right foot is on a rock and his proper left foot is raised in the air behind him. The bronze plinth depicts a rocky surface. The sculpture rests on a pink granite base in the middle of a fountain, located in the middle of a circular courtyard. Benches are located around the fountain.

    NCNB Bank of Texas financed part of the sculpture and courtyard. Inscription on dedication plaque, to the proper left of sculpture, at edge of courtyard, behind bench: CHARLES UMLAUF/NCNB TEXAS/SCULPTURE AND COURTYARD/PROMETHEUS/A TITAN OF GREEK MYTHOLOGY WHO DARED TO/TAKE FIRE FROM HEAVEN AND GIVE IT TO MAN./"IN SO DOING HE FOREVER SYMBOLIZES THE/POWER OF KNOWLEDGE TO IGNITE THE MIND AND/DISPEL THE SHADOWS OF IGNORANCE."/1990/CHARLES UMLAUF/ARTIST & SCULPTOR. IAS files contain a copy of the dedication program.
