The figure wears a suit and has a full moustache. After members of the Village Parks Commission and others raised concerns that erecting a memorial to a non-native person would not be in keeping with the wishes of the donor of an existing monument in the park, the site at Haseco & Glen Avenues was selected. The sculpture was rededicated in 1981 after being vandalized and restored.
