    Remarks:
Statue was commissioned by the first graduating class of Alter High School, the Class of 1966, which raised $2,700 to pay for the sculpture. The statue has been the object of vandalism over the years and it has been doused with paint, decorated with crepe paper, and even stolen. It was specified that the statue be constructed of media that could be easily cleaned after football games. IAS files contain a related excerpt from a school publication.
