(On plaque on base below totem pole:) DONATED BY ANDERSONS - 1987/THIS TOTEM POLE WAS CONSTRUCTED ABOUT 1950 BY MEMBERS/OF REPUBLIC TROOP 61 OF THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA/IT WAS USED AS THE ANNUAL AWARD FOR THE TOP SCOUT PATROL/BASED ON A COMPETITIVE POINTS SYSTEM/THIS TOTEM CAME OUT OF THE OLD KIWANIS HALL NEAR THE/FERRY COUNTY MUSEUM WHERE SCOUTS MET FOR MANY YEARS/UNDER THE DIRECTION OF BEN BUTLER SENIOR/ED COLBERT & JIM COLBERT/THE LEGIBLE NAMES OF THE PATROLS INSCRIBED WHEN TOTEM WAS/FOUND WERE EAGLE (underlined) AND COUGAR (underlined)
