"FALLEN HERDES HAVE FRAGRANT MEMORIES" DEDICATED OCTOBER 12, 1931 (On plaque on footing:) MEMORIAL COMMITTEE ANDREW A CASASSA - MAYOR/TIMOTHY MAHONEY - P.C./HORATIO L. CORBETT - P.C. Founder's mark appears.
Description:
A Civil War soldier standing at rest holding a rifle vertically in front of him. His head is turned to his proper right and he stares down at the ground. Both of his hands are on the barrel of his rifle, proper left over proper right. He is dressed in his uniform and wears a small cap and an overcoat with a small cape. The sculpture rests on rough-hewn granite base adorned with a bronze star on the front.

The sculpture was erected by the City of Revere to honor soldiers who died during the Civil War. The sculpture was cast by T. F. McGann and Sons in the style of Martin Milmore.
