Description:
Uniformed male Civil War soldier standing on a rough-cut tiered base. The soldier is holding the barrel of a rifle with both hands, with the butt of the rifle resting on the plinth. The inscriptions on the base are on polished granite. Immediately in front of memorial is a small headstone with count of Civil War casualties.

Remarks:
Memorial originally located in the "old" center of the cemetery. Subsequently moved to its current, more visible site. Rectangular headstone in front of memorial reads: LOSS OF LIVES/IN NORTH FROM/1861 to 1865/359529./LOSS IN SOUTH/349556.
