    Remarks:
IAS files include several unidentified newspaper clippings, related 1971 correspondence with the Cold Spring Granite Company, and a copy of the monument's dedication program. Waldine Tauch sculpted the figure; Lundgren and Maurer created the granite base; and Cold Spring Granite Company was the supplier for the base's bronze lettering and granite.
Statue was completely restored in June 1993 and replaced on its base on July 3, 1993. The piece had been broken in several places and knocked from its base by vandals. The restoration included the recasting of the arms, feet, rifle and bayonet, and the adding of new internal bracing to the piece.
