Steel alloy in a concrete pool with a bronze plaque.

Sculpture: approx. 160 x 65 1/2 x 65 1/2 in.; Base: approx. 11 x 104 x 104 in.

Stacked in a vertical arrangement are four sections. At the bottom is a piece like a footstool with four legs; the two center sections are square with square shapes cut out of each side. The lower one is larger than the upper of these two. At the top is a shape like the bottom one, but larger and upside down, legs facing up.

Plaque on the south side of the pool reads: JEFFERSON PLAZA/dedicated by the JEFFERSON NATIONAL LIFE INSURANCE (paragraph describing adherence to principles of company founders) September 8, 1971 (end plaque). The fountain is usually left on in the winter to freeze; ice forms in shapes conforming to the work.
