Inscription:  (Plaque on front of base, raised:) THIS TIMBER MONUMENT/AND THE TIME CAPSULE WITHIN THIS BASE IS/DEDICATED TO THE MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN/OF REEDSBURG/WHO BY THEIR PERSEVERANCE PIONEERED THIS CITY/SEALED ON DECEMBER 31, 1976/BY US THE 4585 CITIZENS OF REEDSBURG/TO THOSE OF YOU,/WHO BY THE GRACE OF GOD/ARE HERE/WE DIRECT THAT THIS TIME CAPSULE/BE OPENED ON JULY 4, 2076/THAT A BIT OF 1976 IS WITH YOU,/AND THAT YOU REVERE OUR BEING PRESENT/ONE HUNDRED YEARS AGO/IN PRAYER FOR US/PESSULOS REDUCANTUR AB INFRA unsigned Description:  A large square timber is stood on end with an axe stuck into it about two-thirds of the way up. The timber is held into the cement base by a metal fixture. There is a plaque on the front of the base and a time capsule sealed within the base.
