His proper right leg is straight. His proper left leg is bent and his left foot rests on what appears to be a large rock. He wears no shirt, but has a long cape behind his shoulders which drapes down past his knees. He wears a necklace with teeth attached. A leather strap over his proper left shoulder extends down to his proper right hip. Another leather strap holds a garment that drapes around his waist. He wears leather leggings with fringe along the outer seams. He is barefoot and has long black hair held in a headband.
The plinth is a representation of a stack of stones made from the same type of metal as the rest of the sculpture. There is a circular pipe arrangement around the plinth, which may have served as a fountain at one time.

This piece was originally installed at the old Mingo Courthouse and was relocated when the new Courthouse was built, ca. 1969 at the same site. The monument commemorates Chief Logan, of the Mingo tribe. It was the murder of Logan's family that precipitated the Battle of Point Pleasant.
