Inscription:  unsigned Description:  Prow of dory-type boat emerging from the sand and riding the crest of concrete waves. There is one porthole on each side of the boat towards the front. Shells surround the hull of the boat. Subject:  Architecture -- Boat Object -- Other -- Shell Object Type:  Bench Outdoor Sculpture -- Washington -- Ballard Sculpture Owner:  Ballard Community Center, 6020 28th Avenue N.W., Ballard, Washington 98199 Remarks:  The artist received a commission in 1986 to work collaboratively on the design of the new Ballard Community Center, one of three new or renovated community centers around the city for which artworks were commissioned.
