Standing figure of St. Francis of Assisi with a full beard and moustache. His proper left hand is extended in plea to God. His proper right hand originally held a bowl with a partial loaf of bread. He is wearing a robe with a tassel tie around his waist. Figure is set in a concrete niche in a bell tower.

IAS files contain a copy of The Windsor Chronicle (Windsor, VT), Oct. 8, 1981, discussing the unveiling of the piece. The inscription on the base plaque BTHO/SDL/TTIOTHS translates as: By the Hand and through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. A ceramic plaque installed to the right of the sculpture reads: "St. Francis, the poor little one, the beggar, was born out a reflection with Father Rouelle on the life of Francis. The image arose from Francis' great love of poverty that characterized the example of his life for us..."
