Dimensions:  Sculpture: approx. H. 22 ft.; Base: approx. H. 2 ft. x W. 4 ft. 5 in.; Foundation: approx. 1 x 6 x 6 ft. Inscription:  (Raised letters on front of base:) A. D. 1869. (Inscribed on base:) WILLIAMSTOWN/REMEMBERS HER/PATRIOTIC SOLDIERS/WHO LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE/DEFENSE OF THEIR COUNTRY. (List of names) Description:  A vertical shaft atop a rectangular base inscribed with names. The tapered shaft is topped with a perched eagle with wings spread. A copy of the paper is on file with the Williamstown Historical Society. The monument cost $1,775, with an additional $225 raised to cover the costs of the surrounding fence.
