    Remarks:
The monument was a gift to the town by Homer Hoyt, a Turnbridge native and veteran of the Civil War. In 1921, Hoyt died and bequeathed $5,000 to his native town for the memorial. John Anderson, a granite dealer in South Royalton, designed the monument and oversaw its fabrication. Total cost was $4,575. In 1976, the Turnbridge Bicentennial Committee added a bronze tablet on the back of the memorial to commemorate Turnbridge men and women who served in World War I, World War II, the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War.
