    Description: 
    "Polychromed wooden Indian on a rolling wooden base. This male figure with shoulder length dark hair wears a feathered headdress and beads around his neck. He wears a 'leather' jacket, red shirt, leather pants and apron which are adorned with fringes. In his proper left hand he holds the handle of a tomahawk. A small knife is tucked into his belt. He holds a bundle of cigars in his proper right hand, and another bundle between his proper left arm and his chest."

    IAS files contain article from Rutland Herald/Times Argus (Rutland, VT), March 6, 1988 and photocopied illustrations of the work. The sculpture is taken indoors each night and during the winter. It has been outside the store since 1951, except for seven years when it was located at a reservation.
