    Description: 
    "A central pyramid made of angle iron with a stone top. The pyramid is oriented on N-S, E-W pathways. These paths are connected with a circular path around the pyramid that is 25 ft. in radius. On the eastern side just outside the radius, there is a boulder that marks the sunrise of the spring and fall equinox. On the western side of the circular path are two bolders marking the winter and summer solstice sunsets. The path of the sun's movement from month to month will be marked by a beam of light projected through a large metal plate in the upper section of the pyramid."

    The project was sponsored by the Vermont Council on the Arts. The project involved Kate Pond (as artist-in-residence), nine teachers, and 160 students. IAS files contain artist's notes for the piece, an article from the Burlington Free Press (Burlington, VT), Oct. 12, 1990, the Mountain Villager, Oct. 26, 1990, shots from the 1990 installation, and notes from Mt. Mansfield Union High School.
