PARKINSON signed Description:  A mill building, with a relief plaque depicting Niels P. Hjorth and text relating to the history of the mill. IAS files contain undated, unpublished essay about the area mills. Niels Peter Hjorth built the molasses mill in the fall of 1867-1868. The first of its kind in the area, it was in operation until ca. 1885. Molasses Mill was an important aspect of the Cache Valley economy before and after the coming of the railraod.
