    Description: 
    Grotto set into a hill. Inside the grotto is a stone figure of Mary and an altar. The grotto is constructed of native stone and granite, broken ceramic tiles, glass, coke bottles, mirrors and concrete.

    Remarks: 
    The grotto was built by members of the community and is dedicated to the safe return home of the town's 64 enlisted servicemen in World War II. The grotto was funded by the servicemen. A nearby plaque lists their names. Cost of the grotto was approx. $4,000. The sculpture of Mary was imported from Italy. The grotto was built of native stone and granite taken from the Wichita Mountains. IAS files contain copy of related article from The North Central Texas Free Press, Jan. 17, 1986.
