Medium:  Sculpture: cast metal, possibly bronze, painted; Base: brick, mortar, and concrete. Dimensions:  Sculpture: approx. 57 x 26 x 11 in.; Base: approx. 46 x 46 26 in. Inscription:  unsigned Description:  A sculpture of St. Ann with a young girl, presumably a student. The standing figure of St. Ann wears long robes including a shawl over her head. Her hands are clasped in front of her chest and she holds a school primer open against her chest. The pages of the book face out and contain the alphabet in upper and lower case letters. St. Ann looks down towards the girl and the girl looks up towards the primer. The girl is kneeling and her hands are folded in front of her. She wears long robes, sandals, and a shawl over her head. The figures are painted white, pastel blue, gray, and skin tones. The two figures are on separate plinths and are installed on a rectangular base with two levels. The figure of St. Ann is on the upper level and the figure of the girl is on the lower level.
