Uniformed Confederate soldier stands at ease atop a pedestal. He holds the muzzle of his rifle in both hands. The pedestal stands atop a square base with inscriptions and the "CSA" emblem. This base stands on a three-tiered base.

The monument was placed as the result of a popular movement headed by J. H. Lesesne, the son of a Confederate officer.
