(On front of base:) CSA/1861-1865/ERECTED BY/THE WILLIAMSBURG CHAPTER/UDC AND THE/CITIZENS OF THE COUNTY./MAY 10, 1910./TO THE MEMORY/OF THE MEN OF/WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY/WHO FOUGHT FOR/THE RIGHTS OF THE/SOUTHERN CONFEDERACY/COMRADES/CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS (On rear of base:) TO THE GALLANT BAND OF VOLUNTEERS FROM WILLIAMSBURG WHOSE COURAGE ZEAL AND DEVOTION FED THE FIRES OF PATRIOTISM THAT KEPT ALIVE THE FLAME DURING THE YEARS OF ARDUOUS CONFLICT. THEY SACRIFICED THEIR ALL ON THE ALTER OF THEIR COUNTY WITH NO HOPE OF REWARD-SAVE HONOR.

Figure of Confederate Soldier atop a long spire. Proper right hand holds cap against proper right leg. Proper left hand holds barrel of gun against chest. Figure wears a Confederate army uniform. Base is decorated with reliefs of cannons and swords.
