Inscription:  (On front of self-base:) Mary Jemison the White Squaw/Stolen from Buchanan Valley by Indians 1758 (On front of base near top:) Erected June 1923/by/Father Will Whalen (On self-base, proper right Daprato bell mark:) CHICAGO NEW YORK/ORBRONZE/TRADE MARK//DAPRATO STATUARY CO unsigned Founder's mark appears. Description:  Full-length portrait of Mary Jemison. She has long hair braided into side braids. She wears a blanket wrapped around her shoulders. The zinc sculpture stands on a pedestal base of mortared stone. She was abducted in 1755 during the French and Indian War and lived her life with the Seneca Indians. The sculpture was installed by Father William W. Whalen, pastor of St. Ignatius parish from 1917 to 1938.
