Inscription:  (On North Avenue side of base:) 1917 1919/THIS MEMORIAL IS DEDICATED TO THOSE FROM/MILLVALE/WHO SERVED OUR COUNTRY IN THE WORLD WAR/(three columns of veterans' names)/IN MEMORY OF THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES/FOR THE GREAT CAUSE/(two columns of deceased veterans' names) (Plaques on the other two sides of the base continue list of Millvale's veterans in raised letters) unsigned Description:  A World War I soldier in uniform steps forward. He is slightly crouched and with both hands points his rifle and its bayonet forward. He wears a helmet and backpack and from his belt hangs a knife in its sheath. He stands atop a three-sided base with plaques.
