    Description: 
    Full-length figure of a uniformed Civil War soldier stands at parade rest atop a tall shaft. The figure wears a long, caped coat and cap. He holds his rifle vertically in front of him in both hands, the butt at his proper right foot. There is a shield emblem affixed to the center of the shaft.

    Remarks: 
    Joseph Schwarzenbach incised the names into the marble and Christian Breunle cut the sandstone. The monument was cleaned and polished in the summer of 1995 by Robert Fluty (Ulysses, Pennsylvania), under the sponsorship of the Potter County Historical Society. IAS files contain an excerpt from the book "History of McKean, Elk, Cameron and Potter Counties," (J. H. Beers & Company), pg. 1038-1039, which lists the names incised on the monument; and excerpt from "History of Potter County," by Victor Beebe (Potter County Historical Society), pg. 25.
