    Description: 
    An ore miner stands holding a shovel to his side with his proper right hand. He wears glasses and a helmet with an attached lantern. A cable line attaches the lantern to a power-pack worn on the back of his belt. He stands atop a two-tiered base with an inscribed plaque.

    Cost of $27,000 paid through contributions of miners, their families, local businesses, and state-allocated funds. Adams Brothers did the mounting and stonework and the plaque was made by the Zimmerman Foundry. Commemorates all employees of the Cornwall Mines Division, which operated 1742-1973.
