    Description:
A totem pole with a dragon fly at the top. The dragon fly is the logo of the nature center. Its white wings are bolted on. With the exception of the blue fish at the bottom, all other animals are carved as part of the pole. The animals are meant to represent all of those animals found in the area of the center. From top to bottom the animals are: dragon fly, faded green frog, green snake, brown turtle, white owl, gray raccoon, red raven, brown beaver, black bear, and a blue fish attached at the bottom. The back of the pole is plain brown, except for the snake coiled around the pole. The totem pole is bolted to two pieces of metal set into a concrete base. The pole is enclosed by a small chain fence attached to four wooden stakes.

    Owner:
Churchville Nature Center, 501 Churchville Lane, Churchville, Pennsylvania 18966
    Remarks:
The carvers of this work are members of the Pennsylvania Delaware Valley Woodcarvers. The pole took six weeks to carve.
In 1992, the pole which then rested on the ground, was reset because the wood at the bottom of the pole was rotting. The pole was bolted to two metal pieces set in concrete.
