    Remarks: 
    Gift of the United States Coast Guard. The bell was used by the Coast Guard in various locations in the States of Oregon and Washington, including Cape Disappointment, Seattle Harbor and Warrior Rock on Sauvie Island. In 1969, the lighthouse on Warrior Rock which housed the bell was struck by a barge. The Coast Guard then donated it to the Columbia County Historical Society. IAS files contain a related article from the journal, Columbia County History (Oregon) v. IX, 1970.
    The nearby plaque reads: WARRIOR ROCK BELL/CAST IN PHILADELPHIA/IN 1855, THIS FOGBELL/WAS FIRST PLACED IN SERVICE/AT CAPE DISAPPOINTMENT/AT THE MOUTH OF/THE COLUMBIA RIVER./IN 1889 THE BELL WAS/PLACED IN A NEWLY/CONSTRUCTED LIGHTHOUSE/AT WARRIOR ROCK ON/THE NORTH END OF/SAUVIE ISLAND ABOUT/ONE MILE S. E. OF THIS/LOCATION. DURING TIMES/OF FOG, THE BELL COULD/BE HEARD FROM HERE AS IT/WARNED SHIPS AWAY FROM/THE DANGEROUS ROCK/THE BELL, OR/"OLD FAITHFUL" AS IT WAS/OFTEN CALLED, REMAINED/AT WARRIOR ROCK FOR 80/YEARS. IN JULY OF 1969/A BARGE BROKE AWAY AND/DESTROYED THE LIGHTHOUSE./THE BELL WAS RECOVERED/AND DONATED TO THE/COLUMBIA COUNTY/HISTORICAL SOCIETY/BY THE U. S. COAST GUARD.
