    Remarks:
The sculpture cost $30,000 and was funded through the contributions of local citizens and corporate sponsors including The City of Duncan, Duncan Regional Hospital, Mack Energy Company, and many others. The sculpture's base was provided by Jones Monument Company and was carved by Bill Crowdis. Erle P. Halliburton, 1892-1957, developed the oil well cementing process. He lived to see his company, the Halliburton Oil Well Cementing Company, the county's largest employer, grow to operate on every continent and in the offshore oil and gas producing fields. IAS files contain related articles from The Duncan Banner, May 13, 1993, pg. 1; and the Duncan Public Schools Chalkboard 3 (April 1993): pg. 1-4. The 1996 SOS! survey notes that the sculpture is made of marble, but the article in the Duncan Public Schools Chalkboard notes that the medium is Georgia gray granite.
