    Description: 
    Full-length figure of a Civil War soldier. He wears a uniform, overcoat and cap. The cape of his coat is thrown over his proper right shoulder. He holds the barrel of a rifle with both hands; the butt of the gun rests on the ground in front of him. The granite sculpture stands atop a tall granite pedestal. The pedestal ends in a multi-stepped platform.
