Description:
Full-length figure of a Civil War soldier. He is dressed in uniform and wears a cap. His rifle rests on his proper right shoulder. He is striding forward. His proper left arm is bent to hold his pack against his proper left hip. He gazes off to the proper left. The bronze sculpture stands atop a rough-hewn stone base which ends in a single step.

The monument is a memorial to Company H, 124th Regiment New York Volunteers. It was given to the Wallkill Cemetery Association by Col. Thomas W. Bradley who was a member of the 124th Regiment.
