Inscription:  (On front of base:) ERECTED BY/THE/CITIZENS OF/LODI/1885/(Raised lettering:) 1861-1865 unsigned Description:  A Civil War soldier stands at rest holding a musket with its stock on the ground in front of him. His proper right hand is over his proper left hand on the barrel. A tree stump is behind his proper right leg. The sculpture is mounted on a base decorated on each side with symmetrical designs.
