A dog, possibly a cocker spaniel, reclines on a low, rectangular base with his front paws resting in front. The dog's head is raised, and he is looking to the northeast.

The dog is looking northeast to a large monument with which it may be associated. Its inscription reads, (On west side:) Palmyra/wife of Alfred Kingsbury/Died Oct 25 1861/Aged 58 yr's 9 m's/& 25 days (On south side:) Alfred/Kingsbury/died/Feb 10 1866/Aged 63 years; (On east side:) George G. Kingsbury/Died/Nov. 13 1868/Aged 30 years.
