Full-length figure of a uniformed Union soldier stands at parade rest atop a winged pedestal and base. The figure has a moustache and wears a caped coat and cap. He holds his rifle in front of him with both hands around the barrel and the butt near his proper right foot. The left wing of the pedestal bears the date 1861 and the right wing has 1865. The sculpture is part of a burial plot for Civil War veterans.
