Inscription:  (On base:) ERECTED MAY 30, 1888/IN MEMORY OF/SOLDIERS, SAILORS, MARINES/OF THE WAR OF 1861-65/BY THE COMRADES AND THE CITIZENS OF/EAST RANDOLPH AND VICINITY Description:  Full-length figure of a uniformed Union soldier stands at parade rest atop a tall pedestal and base. The figure has a moustache and wears a caped coat and cap. He holds his rifle in front of him with both hands around the barrel and the butt near his proper right foot. There is a bayonet on his proper left hip.
