    Description: 
    Bust of Martin Luther King, Jr. dressed in a jacket and tie. The bust rests on a polished rectangular granite base, which in turn sits atop a brick exedra wall.

    Remarks: 
    The bust replaces a cement statue (also sculpted by Cobbs), that was dedicated at the site on Jan. 15, 1976, but damaged by vandals in 1992. The bronze replacement (filled with cement) cost $5,000. William Watson constructed the supporting wall. IAS files contain newsclipping from The Home News (New Brunswick, NJ) dated April 5, 1993.
