Inscription:  (On back lower right of sculpture:) J Cobbs Jr (Inscribed:) January 15, 1976/In Memory of/Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr./Presented by the Metuchen Community/"Free at Last" (Two other plaques list donor names) signed Description:  Bust of Martin Luther King, Jr. dressed in a jacket and tie. The bust rests on a polished rectangular granite base, which in turn sits atop a brick exedra wall. The bronze replacement (filled with cement) cost $5,000. William Watson constructed the supporting wall. IAS files contain newsclipping from The Home News (New Brunswick, NJ) dated April 5, 1993.
