Remarks:
The foundation for the monument was installed by the local chapter of the D.A.R. Funds for the sculpture were raised by subscription ($540) and town appropriation ($650). Cost of the sculpture was $975. The sculpture is purported to be a likeness of former Senator Henry W. Blair as he went to the front with the Fifteenth Regiment New Hampshire Volunteers although the identification has been questioned by Ruell.
