    Description: 
    A nude female figure sits sideways atop a lioness. The female figure holds a fold of drapery with her proper left hand and crosses her proper left leg under her proper right leg.

    Formerly in the collection of Sprague Family, Wellesley, Massachusetts 1890s-ca. mid-1950s.
    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was formerly owned by the Sprague Family of Wellesley, Massachusetts who probably purchased it in the 1890s when they built their home. Neil Tillotson acquired the sculpture when he purchased the Sprague property and he brought the sculpture to The Balsams in the mid-1950s, sometime after he bought The Balsams in April 1954. Originally, the sculpture was placed in the lobby of The Balsams, but later it was placed in storage. From 1971 to the present it has been placed in the garden from May through October.
